Please welcome the wonderful Cynthia Eden, author of many many books but my favorite...Bound Series.
Okay...so here is my nerd moment. A friend my mine first introduced me to Cynthia's work. We were talking one day and she was telling me about a book she was reading. She said the personality behind the writing reminded her of me. She said that once she was done reading it she would lone it to me. The day she loaned it to me she was laughing as she handed it to me. I asked her why. She said now she knew why it reminded her of me. The author's name is Cynthia and a Gemini (just like me!) Instantly I fell in love lol.
Before she gets started her is some info on her:
Cynthia is a southern girl who loves horror movies, chocolate, and happy endings. She has always wanted to write (don’t most authors say that?), and particularly enjoys creating stories about monsters–vampires, werewolves, and even the real-life monsters that populate her romantic suspense stories.
Cynthia’s foreign sales for her books include translations to Japan, Germany, Thailand, and Brazil.
(Back in the day…) Cynthia graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama where she studied Sociology (because people interest her) and Communication (because she likes to write about said people). Cynthia has worked as a college admissions counselor, a teacher, and as an editor. But now, Cynthia is thrilled to be spending her days making up stories.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN...WITH A BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL.
Happy 2nd Anniversary!! And thank you for inviting me to the party!
Any party that involves books is my kind of event :)
I've been a book addict for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, I started with Judy Blume -no she lured me in. Then I graduated to Christopher Pike's scary tales. One day, I was strolling down an aisle at K-Mart and - bam!- I randomly picked up my first romance novel (yes, I was one of those very early romance readers- I think I was twelve at the time of that random pick up). After I read that first romance novel, I was hooked. I wanted the love, the action, the happy ending.
And there would be no going back for me.
I have no idea how many romance books I've read in my lifetime. I was twelve when I started, I am thirty- six now AND - ah, jeez, there wasn't supposed to be math in this post! ;) At one point, I was trying to keep every single book that I bought. Then, ahem, my home started to look like an episode of Hoarders, so I had to part with those books. Right now, I am thrilled to have a Kindle- no Hoarders house for me, but I still have access to so my books!
My reading addiction really challenged my life. Because I loves books so much, I knew that I *wanted* -- no, let's make that NEEDED to spend my life with books. Writing was natural for me. In my writing, I get to create fun stories about monsters and lovers and happily ever after endings. I found my calling between the pages of the books I loved so much, and, every day, I am so grateful for that random stroll I took down the aisle at K-Mart.
How did your reading addiction get started? Please share! I'd love to hear the details!
For this giveaway, I'm offering a copy of my new release, HOWL FOR IT and my book, ANGEL BETRAYED. Good Luck!
Best,
Cynthia Eden

Where can you hunt Cynthia down at?
Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…
Gage Ryder knew his human bride had a wild side. But spending their honeymoon night on the run from hunters out to finish him and his pack is sure not the kind of fun he was looking forward to. No problem–Gage will do whatever it takes to lay bare Kayla’s secrets and find the truth. If he can keep from being captured by his own seductive game.
LIKE A WOLF WITH A BONE – by Shelly Laurenston
Quiet little Darla Lewis couldn’t be happier when the most-feared member of the South’s rowdiest pack kidnaps her. A girl gets real tired of being overprotected by her own shifter family, and there’s nothing like an oh-so-big bad wolf to start a pack feud, unleash her instincts–and have her surrender however and whenever she wants…

Getting to leave this place every time I read is what got me into reading :)
ReplyDeleteEscapism can be a great thing! That's why I love books and movies so much!
DeleteThe worlds got me addicted. I love being taken away by the stories I read. I first started reading at age 8, and prior to that was being read too by family, so probably before that I was addicted lol. My family is all readers, so I think it just comes natural :)
ReplyDeleteI think reading families are so wonderful!
DeleteI wasn't addicted to books until I had my first child. Every week I'd buy him a book. From the time he was born I would read to him every night. I continued this practice when the second kid came along. What a huge library these two boys had :). At the same time I had no time for me to read for my enjoyment. Both boys read VERY early which freed me up. One trip to the library ( a weekly event ) I picked up Kelley Armstrong's BITTEN. That was it - I was an addict from that moment on :).
ReplyDeleteLucky boys!! ;)
DeleteMy mum took us to the libary when we where young and they had story time there so i got addicted to books from that..
ReplyDeleteI used to love doing library story time with my son!
DeleteMy addiction to books started when I read Twilight! Those were my first book series that I devoured like crazy. Now I don't like them that much, cuz I've discovered way to many better books. Lol! But they were fun, at that time! :D (Ileana-rafflecopter)
ReplyDeleteWere you Team Jacob or Edward?
DeleteFrom an early age I loved reading books, so that is what got me started. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so great that you started your reading addiction early!
DeleteI had always loved reading hour in early years of school. But when I discovered the Nancy Drew books, I was hooked on reading. I was in my mid-teens when I started reading romances. That was when Loveswept and Kismet were out...LOL
ReplyDeleteRomance books just simply make me happy.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY :)
Romance books just make me happy, too. ;)
DeleteHmmm, I guess it was a way to escape for me. My father was in the Air Force and almost never home while I was growing up. Books were a way for me to have adventure, etc., with an overprotective mom.
ReplyDeleteI love that books can let us all have such wonderful adventures.
DeleteI like reading because it gives me an escape and i can let my imagination run free.

I love it when an imagination runs free!
DeleteMy mom was/is a reader so I naturally followed in her footsteps. I read The Babysitter's Club, Sweet Valley High and Judy Blume books. I think I read my first romance book when I was a teenager and then was hooked. Once I went off to colleage and had kids my reading time was consumed with nonfiction books (parenting, school, etc). Luckily I have been able to get back to reading for fun! This is my first time on this blog and I look forward to following it!
ReplyDeleteOh, Amy, you just took me back! I used to love The Babysitter's Club!
DeleteEveryone from my grandmother to parents, siblings & now also my daughter are all readers. We are a total reading family. Love your books! Leann leamei1981@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteA wonderful reading family!
DeleteMy grandmother was an avid reader. She even got books delived in the mail. I started reading when I would go over to house. I have never stopped.
ReplyDeleteI used to belong to a book club and get books delivered in the mail, too--I always loved those deliveries! I am so glad your grandmother passed her love of reading on to you.
DeleteI had always been a reader for as long as i remember... I remember reading the encyopedias on summer when i was 10 because i ran out of books to read and my mom told me to read them... Needless to say I made sure that i went to library at least once a week so it didn't happen again. I started reading romance novels when i was 13 as my grandma gave me what started with a paper bag full of books and i finished them and i returned the bag to her and she gave me new ones.
ReplyDeleteMy mom and dad always knew when they couldn't find me i had my nose in a book and i am lucky that i married a man who is a book lover too and our boys like books... Can never have enough books.
Wow, the encyclopedias? You were dedicated!!
DeleteI think I got started when my sister was in the hospital and she told me about this funny book that she read there.... It was a book by Rachel Gibson and that's how I got started!
ReplyDeleteMay, I have heard so many people say they love Rachel Gibson (and I hope your sister is okay now!).
DeleteThank you for all the comments!!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved reading. But a few years ago, after I became unable to work due to an accident, I started reading PNR. They started my huge addiction to romances. They have helped to keep me from going crazy since I became unable to work :-)

Learning to read got me addicted to books. My third grade teacher was amazed at how many books I read and always asked me in later years whenever she saw me, "Are you still reading a lot?" Of course my answer was always yes. It was a wonderful day when I discovered the library. :D
ReplyDeleteIt all started when we went to the library every month with school when I was about 7. :)

Well, when I was a teen I had so many problems, (plus the fact of being a teen) so I found out that, for me, reading books it was an escape from reality, and besides that, after reading, I felt really happy, and I could take easily everything else. Until now, reading is a way to realx and I enjoy it so much!
ReplyDeleteMy dad started my love of reading when I was young by signing me up for the Dr. Suess book clubs and Disney book clubs. I would always be so excited to get a new book in the mail I'd want to learn to read it right away. As a pre-teen and teenager and even now I'm rarely without a book in my hand.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved reading. Picked it up young and never stopped. Addicted, probably Judith McNaught books!
ReplyDeleteI really don't know. Maybe the possibility to experience someone else's life, or story
ReplyDeleteThat's hard to explain. I have loved to read since forever. But I think I got addicted because I can escape the reality and enter some imaginary world that one of the amazing authors has created.
