Hi Everybody!
Steph here and thanks to the generous Sourcebooks,
Book Reader Addicts will be giving away
to a lucky winner in the US or Canada a copy of Entice, book 2 of the Embrace
Series!! I’m sure you want it…If it’s the case check
under the review.
Review: Beware people Jessica
Shirvington and her Embrace series is
causing serious addiction that will make you crave for more. Entice was a very strong sequel and it was
hard to put it down….I’m not left hanging for book 3.
I like how Violet developed as a main character, the mistakes and things
she learned in book one really had an impact on her and you can see how it
affects her decision making and behavior.
A few new characters get introduces in this
book and even if they are only secondary they have a lot of dimensions and they
become a full part of the story, you want to know more about them. I really
hope we’ll have more of them in the next book.
I also love Lincoln in this book…well he
annoyed the hell out of me in some parts but he mostly grew and he gets
‘braver’ on some areas that I never expected him to be. What I enjoy is that as dreamy, perfect
‘warrior’ he is, he has flaws and weaknesses making him all more real. He also managed to irritate me quite a bit,
this side of Lincoln was not exploit in the first opus of the series
The storyline of this opus is very good and
there were a few reveals and plot points I really didn’t see coming. The story flows very nicely and there are not
many filler.
Now Phoenix….Awwww Phoenix. Jessica writes him so well. He has so many
layers. Sadly I didn’t get much of him in this book and yet during the little I
got I realized there was so much more to him and I can’t help to wish I’ll have
my Phoenix fix but I have hope for the next book.
This is something that Jessica does well too;
there is always a bit of black in her white…. Her world is not
black and white but in different shades of grey. .. It’s much more like the ‘real’
world. , her heroes are not perfects and her villains have some redeeming
qualities.
In conclusion this book is pure
awesomeness! Be ready to be enticed people this book was so hard to put
down. You will have everything, drama,
betrayal, romance, heartbreaks, new alliances, new and old enemies….Entice will
get you even more addicted to the series and Jessica is now definitely in my “To-Watch”
list.
Stars 5/5
Lincoln because while he didn't tell Violet the truth right away, he didn't try to manipulate her.

DeleteI have not read Entice yet, so I am not sure who I like better. I will have to read it to find out=)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books in this series yet, so I can't make an informed decision. But it sounds like Lincoln is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteIt's a hard choice, but I'm going to have to go with Phoenix. He has quite a bit of bad in him, but I think Violet brings out the person he wants to be. Link is a good guy, but too wishy washy for me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read either of these books yet so I'm not sure who I would prefer. I need to read them so I can find out : )
ReplyDeleteI havent read the first in the series but I have it and it is on my TBR list.
