Image Blog Tour Character Interview and Giveaway

Cynthia Garcia has requested a meeting…an interview with the three main characters of the Insight series Willow, Landen, and Drake. They have agreed to meet with her on common ground, inside the walls of Perodine’s study. It is a large room that leads to the observatory that Perodine has used for countless years to observe the stars…the path that lies before Willow. Though the wall of windows to the left are open and light is pouring in there is still an ominous darkness that lingers inside of the  this palace. Three couches outline a large fireplace. One sits directly in front of the warm fire that is raging Landen and Willow are sitting side by side there.
Landen smiles warmly at Cynthia who is sitting on the couch to his left, trying to calm the anxiety and excitement he can feel coming from her. His attention manages to exaggerate Cynthia’s emotions not calm them. Willow smiles slightly as she feels Landen’s confusion, she reaches for his hand and laces her fingers through his, and her thoughts tell him it not his fault, anyone would find it hard to not be taken away by his flawless smile that enhances his dimples. Beyond the calming blue of his eyes, Landen’s smile is Willow’s favorite feature. Landen blushes slightly and moves his arm around Willow and rest his lips against her temple.
Drake is sitting on the couch to the left. He’s leaning into the corner, his broad shoulders are relaxed into the leather cushions. His mesmerizing dark eyes are staring intently at Cynthia who is sitting on the couch across from him. He doesn’t see the need in taking the time to do this, but Willow has asked him to be here and her requests rarely go unnoticed by him.
Cynthia smiles nervously then looks to her notepad in her lap as she clears her throat then looks into Willow’s emerald green eyes “What do you want to see for Esterious?”
Willow smiles slightly then without hesitation she answers this simple question. “Peace…the life they are meant to have…free from a damning darkness.”
Cynthia smiles and nods. “Is that what all of you want for this dimension?”
Willow glances at Drake then moves her eyes back to Cynthia. “Of course.”
Landen’s gaze moves from Willow to the fire before him. When Willow feels his frustration for what they have been through, for what they still have to endure she squeezes his hand to draw him out of the thought that has taken him from this moment. His blue eyes move back to her as if he was listening to her thoughts in his mind. He nods once and tries to smile before he gives his attention back to Cynthia.
Cynthia’s eyes move between Willow and Landen trying to grasp the level of communication this couple is capable of. At that moment she wanted nothing more than to hear the words they were passing back and forth in their thoughts. She feels Drake’s eyes on her and that immediately whips the envy in her expression away. The last thing she wanted to do was make Drake angry…point out how awe inspiring it was to witness Willow and Landen side by side. Cynthia smiles warmly at Drake. His eyes reflect that notion and without knowing it she holds her breath and lets her eyes fall to her notepad finding it hard to read each of the questions she had perfectly plotted for this meeting. “If that is true do you think all of you could work together, what would stop you from doing just that?”
Drake notices the nervousness in her voice and leans forward and rests his elbows on his knees as he peers across the room at her. “The one thing that would demand that we work together would be the same thing that would make it impossible.”
Cynthia falls back on the confidence that allowed her to step into this story and boldly asked. “And what is that?”
Drake’s eyes move to Willow as he leans back once again. “Willow….the way we feel about Willow.” He finally answers.
Cynthia’s eyes move to Willow “Do you agree?”
Every part of Willow tenses as she nods. “I’m the only real problem in this situation,” she mumbles.
Drakes leans forward and opens his mouth to protest but Willow locks her eyes with his before he has a chance to utter a word. The tension in room rises as Cynthia begins to understand that Willow has a way of speaking to Drake without a single word – she understands that once glance between them represents a thousand unspoken words.
Cynthia utters her next question. At this point she is not even bothering to look at her notebook. She wants to see where this leads – what she can get them to reveal to her. “I take it that you disagree on that point?”
Landen pulls Willow a little closer as he throws a demanding glare at Drake. “You could say that.”
Drake’s jaw tightened as his eyes fell. Landen gave Cynthia a reassuring smile and nodded to her notebook wanting to move on another topic as quickly as possible. She held the gaze of his blue eyes and asked “Why do you think you love Willow?”
The question all but stunned him.
Drake smirked.”I’d like to know that myself.”
Landen’s jaw tightened as his eyes shot back to Drake. Willow leaned forward blocking both of their line of sights. Landen smiled slightly revealing  his trade mark dimples .His eyes moved back to Cynthia “I don’t think I love her – I know I love her. She doesn’t have my heart – she has my soul…from the first breath to the last…it doesn’t matter how many lives we live or what battles we fight nothing will change that.”
Cynthia smiles at his answer then her gaze wonders to Drake. He had leaned forward in his seat and his head was down as if he could not bear to hear Landen’s words. Cynthia studied his hands that were locked inside each other. She couldn’t not help but wonder how his touch must feel to Willow. Holding her eyes on Drake she utters her next question. “Willow… how do you know you are in love with the right man when Drake's touch has an effect on you?”
Drake’s dark mesmerizing eyes rose to meet Cynthia’s, gratitude was reflected there. His direct attention all but took Cynthia’s breath away. So much that she didn’t not notice the betrayal that was echoing in Willow’s stare. Willow had seen Cynthia’s honest intent when she asked for this interview. She knew that Cynthia simply wanted to understand them more clearly, but she never imagined how direct the questions would be – how they would stir up emotions that she fought to keep deep inside.
“Are you in love Cynthia?”  Willow asked reflecting the question that was given to her.
Cynthia breaks her stare with Drake and looks to Willow. “I am”
“Are you in love with the way his skin feels when it is next to you…or are you in love with his soul.”
Cynthia blushes as she tries to find an answer “Um…in my life it is one in the same – that is why I asked you the question – how do you know.”
Cynthia holds Willows stare but blushes as she sees Drake smile out of the corner of her eye.
“I think I like this girl,” Drake said trying to hold in laugh “Her logic makes sense to me.”
Willow locks eyes with him and his smile fades as he winks at her.  Drake clears his throat. “Cynthia, love, Willow cannot answer that question…because there is no way for her to be sure.”
Landen stands abruptly. Willow barley manages to stand in time to block him from Drake’s path. Willow stares up at Landen. Cynthia would have given anything to hear what she was saying to him how she was making Landen calm down without a single spoken word.
Landen kisses Willows forehead gently before he sits down once again. Willow gives a pleading look to Cynthia that the questions will become easier, but Cynthia didn’t notice it she was staring at the now calm Landen. She was perplexed. “You didn’t get mad when I asked that question – only when Drake gave me an answer – does it not bother you that his touch has a profound effect on her?”
Landen’s jaw tighten as he searched for words then without warning he slowly leaned forward and held his hand out for Cynthia’s’ . His reaction was unexpected but Cynthia reached her hand that was trembling ever so slightly toward Landen. Landen smiled as he held her gaze. A confidence seemed to come over Willow she knew that Landen was about to show Cynthia that Drake may be capable of causing one emotion, but Landen was capable of evoking several.
“What do you feel?” Landen asked quietly.
“Calm,” Cynthia answered with a smile. Landen’s eyes moved to Willow as his hand tightened around Cynthia’s. “And now?” Landen asked
“Love…indescribable love.” Cynthia whispered. Landen’s crystal blue eyes moved back to Cynthia’s as he let his hand fall from hers.
“Why would I fear or be threatened by the passion in his touch has when I can give her that emotion….without even touching her?” Landen asked humbly
Cynthia’s cheeks flushed slightly. “New topic?” she said quietly
“Good idea,” Willow mumbled as she let out a breath hoping that the hardest topics were behind them on this interview.
Cynthia nodded and looked down to her notebook trying to find a question that would be less abrasive. Her eyes rose to meet Willows “ Do you think Drake will find his true soul mate soon?”
Before Willow could answer Drake spoke. “I have found her – new topic.”
Willow held in a breath then looked down refusing to open the flood gate of emotions that her answer would invoke. Willow had made a vow to find that girl, and to do whatever was in her power to make Drake realize there was a girl out there waiting on him to forget his past with Willow.
“Fine,” Cynthia said locking eyes with Drake “ Do you think you can or will ever become connected or even close to Marc – your brother?”
Drake’s jaw tightened. “Perhaps….it’s not either of our fault that we were kept apart.” Drake’s eyes moved to Landen. “Marc doesn’t see me as a brother….my role was given to Landen. When he decides that blood has more meaning than a promise I will be here.”
Landen moves head side to side. “Our blood is the same – you need to understand that and not blame Marc for the wall he’s put up – no one else does.”
Cynthia’s eyes grew wide as she remembered that through veins of Drake and Landen the same blood coursed – they were family.
“No one else was kept in the dark,” Drake said coldly.
Willow leaned forward to block Drake and Landen’s line of sight. “We are all in the dark – you know that.” She said looking calmly into Drake’s captivating eyes.
“Ok,” Cynthia said looking down at her notebook. “That will lead into another question I had for all of you. We all know what Willow felt the first time she saw each of you – when she was truly in the dark and had no idea that either of you were real. Tell me how you felt the first time you saw her – both of you.” Cynthia said as her eyes moved between Drake and Landen.
Drake moved his head side to side it was hard enough for him to express how he felt about Willow when they are alone, in front of Landen it would be near impossible. He locked eyes with Cynthia and gave the most understandable answer he could come up with at that moment. “The first time my eyes met Willow’s enchanting emerald green eyes was long before this life, and that is another story that is yet to be told. In this life when I saw her for the first time relief absorbed me – she was safe and within my reach. It took everything I had to hold myself back – to not wrap my arms around her and run – run away to another world, one where no one could come between us….but I know my Willow,” his eyes broke from Cynthia’s and moved to Willows “ She’s stubborn and independent if I forced her to leave with me she would never forgive me. I knew I had to wait for memories of me to surface and if that moment didn’t come then I would simply have to make her fall in love with me once again.”
Cynthia smiled to thank him for his answer then her eyes moved to Landen. His eyes were waiting on hers to find him …though he looked calm it was easy to see he was eager to answer.
“I not only dreamed of Willow every night but I spoke of her every day. As I helped others travel through the passage of the string to find their soul mates my heart ached for the moment my time would come. My world’s foundation rest in the emotion of love – the one emotion that gives the human body a power that cannot be overcome. I never doubted that I would find her, but I never imagined that when we found each other that we would discover that our families – the people we trusted the most had been keeping us apart. For the first time in my life I set aside the respect and honor I had for my father and broke free from his rules and guidelines and sought to find Willow. She was crying, terrified and confused. My relief for seeing her did not allow me ask why - I had to kiss her, hold her tight and tell her the most powerful words I knew ‘I love you’. That moment should have been the end of a long quest, but instead it was the beginning of one – we were about step into a realm of life that neither of us could have ever imagined.”
Cynthia uttered her next question without thought as she stared at Landen.”How will you feel if you are the wrong man Willow fell in love with?”
“She didn’t,” he answered as he raised his hands to block Willows immediate protest.
An impish grin spread across Drake’s face he was enjoying these questions – in his mind Cynthia was on his side.
At that moment Olivia walked in the doorway beside the fire place. She seemed to be surprised and confused to see Cynthia there. She smiled slightly then took a seat next to Drake.
“This is Cynthia,” Willow said “She wanted to meet us – understand us.”
Olivia smile grew as she nodded at Cynthia.
Cynthia smiled, relieved that the tension from her last question had faded with Olivia’s arrival. “It must feel amazing to have you to two best friends here with you.” Cynthia said as her eyes moved back to Willow.
“It is – I mean….I worry about them, but I could not imagine life without them.”
Cynthia noticed how relaxed Drake seemed to become with Olivia’s arrival. She caught his stare and asked. “Do you regret what you did to Olivia and the rest of Willows friends?”
Without hesitation he answered. “I recognized Olivia the moment I saw her…I knew from my dreams of the past that Willow would never be far from her…I am sad that a storm took us by surprise – I would give anything to have been more prepared for that – to have avoided the loss that was brought to Willow’s life…I tried to tell Monica to stay behind, but she insisted that Olivia would not go without her. The others came without invitation and what happened to them here I had no control of.” His eyes moved around the room. “At that time Donalt was in control.”
Cynthia looked at Willow. “Are you over with what Drake did then?”
Willow hesitated before she answered as grief spread across her face. “We can’t change it…I’ll never forget my friends in Franklin…but all we can ever do is react to what is in front of us…and that is what Drake did at that moment.”
Not wanting to push the lost past of Willow’s friends in Franklin she decides to find another question. “Landen, do you think you will ever be able to trust Drake?”
Landen let out a deep breath as he glanced at Drake. “I trust him to help me protect Willow….that says a lot.”
Cynthia nodded, then searched for another question. “Willow, growing up, Dane was always there – did you ever have romantic feelings for Dane?”
Willow instantly made a face as Olivia laughed out loud.
“Not – at – all,” Willow answered. “He is like a brother to me – he made me feel safe and understood me when I didn’t understand myself.”
Cynthia grinned as she glanced between Landen and Drake.  “How do you guys feel about Willow and Dane having such a close relationship?”
Drake tensed instantly as his jaw locked. Landen let out a breath as he chose his words carefully. “Just depends…people change…I’m grateful he was there when I wasn’t.”
Drake just turned his head side to side slowly. Cynthia wasn’t sure if that was a no, or a silent request to move on so she uttered her next question as she forced herself to look away from Drake. “What do you see happening in your future?”
Silence took over for a moment then Willow smiled slightly. “All we want is peace…what stands between us and that moment carries no real weight….at least not for long.”
Nods came from the others as she spoke.
“I wish you the best of that luck on that journey,” Cynthia said smiling slightly. “Is there anything else you want to say to me or all of the people that are following your story?”
Landen smiled slightly. “Thank you.”
Willow nodded along with Drake.
Olivia edged forward on her seat before she answered.”I just want to say to all of them to never forget that you are just as powerful and gifted as everyone in this room – never let anyone tell you any different. Anything is possible – if take the time to believe in it.”
A smile beamed across Cynthia’s face “Beautiful – thank you.” She looks down at her notebook. “I think that is all I have for now – I may have a few more for the others…I would love to take at tour of this place if that is possible?”
Drake stands and reaches his hand toward her. “I grew up within these walls . It would be my pleasure to show you around.”
Cynthia’s smile grows as she stands and walks to his side.

Jamie's Books:
Before that fateful summer night, Willow had balanced the insight of emotion, and the vivid images. That night, the figure in her nightmare marked her wrist with a star, giving her father no choice but to tell Willow a family secret that would abruptly change life, as she knew it, forever. Before Willow had time to absorb the shock of her father's secret, her soul mate that had shared every stunning dream with her, found her, and darkness captured her closest friends. In order to save them, she must weave through broken myths and the undeniable power of the Zodiac. In the end, Willow discovers that at the moment of our birth we are all given a divine gift.
Not many Scorpio’s are known for their patience, and Willow Haywood is no different. Her only desire is to love Landen Chambers and redeem the lost souls of Esterious, but the path to that desire is long, dark and dangerous...
Before Willow’s life had a chance to balance the sudden revelations and grief she had to endure to get to Chara a disturbing discovery is made. A photo, one that shows Willow blissfully embracing the flawless image of Drake Blakeshire; giving her not only proof that she had lived before, but that she had loved him.
Running away from the memory of Drake’s hypnotizing touch, and the prophecy set before her seemed like the logical thing to do. That is, until a dark dream reignites her passion to save the hopeless dimension of Esterious. Willow struggles to find patience – to learn everything she needs to know before she faces Drake again, but her eagerness is dangerous and one step in the wrong direction takes everything and everyone away from her – the only way to survive this trial is for Willow to remember who she is and what she really wants out of this life. The question is….can she do that?

There is an ominous darkness, one that that is so dense and mind numbing that you can feel the chills race across your skin as the energy of the hatred behind it hovers near you. They thought that it was over…that he was dead….they never imagined that he was more powerful dead than he ever was alive.
A war is on the brink of erupting in the dark dimension of Esterious, the victory Willow had a few days ago was nothing less than vague memory. With each thought she has she fights the images of Drake’s dark eyes, his words… his promises. Doubt seeps into her soul as she stares forward and what could only be the hardest battle she has faced thus far.
Venus is meant to be the planet of love and peace….but when it falls into retrograde its influence changes. Matters of past relationships will surface; choices will be made with the mind and not the heart. Gateways to an evil that cannot be fathomed will open. Willow and Landen’s only defense is to hide their family away, and lock themselves in the palace that was once ruled by Donalt. The energy is heavy and dark within these walls…there is a presence that lingers and strikes at will. Cruel illusions are placed before Willow, but that is not even hardest part…what is hard is standing in room with Drake and Landen and listening to others tell you of lives that you cannot recall…for them to tell when and how you are going to die.
Every prediction and theory is about to be proven wrong…and the choice before Willow’s heart holds the lives of millions at stake. The question is will be she be able to see through the illusions before her and make a choice…she can live with?

Shadows of Pain by Ashley Dawn Blog stop

Today I would like to introduce you to Ashley Dawn, author of the Shadow Series. She is currently celebrating her release of Shadows of Pain the third book in the series. Take it away Ashley!!!

I’ve had many people ask me why I write Christian romantic suspense instead of just romantic suspense.  Their argument is target audience for romantic suspense is much wider than adding the faith element.  Also, I would have more options for publishers instead of the limited number that publish Christian Fiction.  It is a nice idea but that doesn’t fit me.  I absolutely adore reading.  I will read pretty much any type of book, with very few exceptions.  It is different when I write.
Writing to me is much more personal.  I want to share my faith.  Just writing romantic suspense would be fun but I honestly don’t think it would be as fulfilling for me.  Sharing my faith and connecting it to my characters flows for me.  It may not be the most open market and some people may skip over my books because they have faith and God in them, but that is ok.
To me, it means more when I hear someone say that my writing touched them.  Hearing a reader say they connected with a character’s dilemma and it made the story real to them is wonderful.  Would I like to sell a lot of books?  Yes.  I would like to reach as many people as I can with my books.  Do I enjoy the suspense and romantic elements of my books?  Absolutely.  Those are some of the best parts to write!  Would I ever consider writing something that didn’t include my faith?  I don’t think so.
I read mostly Christian fiction.  In the huge mix of books I’ve read, I have to say that it does appeal to me the most.  The romantic suspense is the type that I prefer so that is probably why I write it.  I also love the Christian science fiction, fantasy, romance, and thriller!  The books with romance and a hint of danger….that is just perfect for me!
So really, I write in the Christian fiction group because it is what I believe I can use to share my faith.  I may not be the most successful author and I may never have a book in the top 100 but that doesn’t mean I can’t reach people with my books.  I hope the books are fun and enjoyable to my readers and they think back and reflect on the story.  I don’t want to be preachy, I just want to plant a seed.

Here is some info about the wonderful author Ashley:
Author Ashley Dawn was born and raised in rural Arkansas where she developed her love for writing while helping in her parent's office. She graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Central Arkansas but is currently working as a legal assistant. Ashley has been writing professionally for the past seven years and has two published books.  Her first book, Shadows From The Past, was originally published by Tate Publishing  and is considered more of a traditionally published book while the second, Shadows of Suspicion, was published by self publication using AuthorHouse.  She is currently working on multiple projects including the third in her ‘Shadows’ series entitled Shadows of Pain and also a standalone mystery about a serial killer that remains untitled.  You can find out all about her current books and future releases on her website www.authorashleydawn.com.  Ashley also has a review blog to share her love of reading, Ashley’s Bookshelf, where she reads and reviews books of all genres.  (http://ashleysbookshelf.blogspot.com)  She and her family make their home in Texas.

Now go check out her new release Shadows of Pain and if you haven't read any book from this series you really should check it out!

Revenge is sweet….unless you are on the receiving end of it.

“Do you know of anyone who would want…you dead?”

Officer Daniel Jenkins was no stranger to the dangers his job posed but usually he knew who was trying to kill him.  Being stalked was a completely different ball game, and he wasn’t sure there were any rules…

“…I need you.”

Terrified didn’t even begin to describe how Kami felt with the stalker targeting her.  As an FBI agent you were trained to handle stressful situations, but being the victim put the whole process in a different light.

As the killer gets closer, so do Kami and Daniel, but will they live long enough to see their love bloom?

Only God can save them from this unknown killer…

NaNoWriMo Rescue: Overcome monkey mind and keep writing.
By Rochelle Melander

Picture this: you are in the middle of National Novel Writing Month, cruising away, building up a decent word count, when suddenly monkey mind hits. Your mind flips from one thing to another, never landing anywhere long enough to actually get any writing done:
“I should update Facebook.”
“What’s happening on Twitter?”
“I need a cookie.”
“Why is my character so cranky?”
“Look at those squirrels.”

Monkey mind happens to the best of writers. It’s that horrible condition that hits writers and meditation practitioners alike. Our mind dances and twirls like a whirling dervish. If we are going to write even when we don’t want to or do not feel like it, we need to learn how to tame that wild monkey! Here are five things you can do to stay productive and rescue your word count next time monkey mind hits you.

1. Unplug. Shut off the cell phone. Turn off email, the Internet, Twitter, Facebook, and anything else that beeps on your computer to notify you of new content. This will immediately give you some space to calm your restless mind.

2. Create space. Do what you can to create space in your writing environment. Move your calendar and to-do list off of your writing desk. Enlarge your document window so that it covers all of the other junk on your desktop.

3. List everything you have to do, the ideas that keep popping up in your head, and the worries that are poking at your mind. Often monkey mind happens when I am trying to juggle too many tasks my head. Getting them out of my head and onto paper helps me to let go of them and opens up space for me to think about writing. I often keep a separate document open just for jotting down random ideas. That way, I can leave them there and move on with my work.

4. Brainstorm. When your brain is in hyperdrive, harness the power! Use the extra brainpower to brainstorm ideas for your story’s plot, characters, or setting. In this state, you are likely to come up with some off-the-wall but brilliant ideas. You might even sketch out future scenes in your document, adding words to your daily total. In addition, brainstorming often leads into writing and before you know it, you’ve beat monkey mind and written several pages.

5. Do what you can do. When you cannot focus enough to write your novel, but need to move forward with a project: do anything you can do to support the project. This might include researching the story, organizing files, or adding information to a character chart. Who knows, maybe in the process of designing your main character’s house or researching the clothes women wore in the late 1700s, you will have a brilliant idea and start writing again.

Writers, above all do not worry. Monkey mind happens to most writers. If you cannot write right now, set your work aside for an hour or so, do something mindless and repetitive, and get back to it when your brain calms down.

At this stop I have a review for you on Image, a giveaway, and the schedule for the rest of the tour. I hope you enjoy!!

My Review:

First things first, when I read Insight, the first book in the series, it was my top YA book for 2010. Then I read Embody, the second book in the series, and that became my top YA book for 2011. After reading Image, the third book in the series, I have decided that it kicked both book’s butts and is now my top YA book period.
Jamie has definitely out done her self. If you have read the first two books in this series then you already know it’s about true love or soul mates, the zodiac, and the trails the characters go through. There hasn’t been any real “darkness” until now. There is a “darkness” in this book that I don’t think anyone would expect from Jamie.
Image has tons of twist and turns. Characters that you wouldn’t expect to come together do and then there is one character that has left me completely stunned and now I am desperately waiting for the next book to find out if I am going to continue being mad at them.In Image you will get a closer look into the relationships of Willow, Landen, and Drake. You will also get more information of their past lives. It is full of just the right amount of action, suspense, and of course a love story.
If you haven’t read this series yet I really recommend that you do. I am sure you will fall in love like I have.
5 out of 5 stars!

Jamie's other books:

Genesis by Kristie Cook Review and Giveaway winner

A father who reveals his truth.
Twins who take different paths—one light, one dark.
Angels who have plans for them both
And Demons who do as well.
So the Earthly battle for souls ignites…

A tale that is over 2,000 years old, this is the story of the Amadis beginnings.

Review:
I really like both Promise and Purpose by Kristie Cook so when I was offer to read the prequel of the series, Genesis, I was excited. After reading it I can honestly say it is a great intro into the Soul Savers series.
Kristie put in some really good twist and turns in the story that I really liked. I think a story falls flat without them. Also, the characters are very well written. I really like how she set the twins up as good and evil which creates the becoming of Armadis.
If you have read Promise and Purpose then I highly recommend you to read this. It will explain a lot that you didn't get from the books. If you haven't read Promise and Purpose yet (what are you waiting for?) then I suggest you start with Genesis first.
Two thumbs up to Kristie! I can't wait for the release of Devotion!

4 out of 5 stars!

The winner of the Soul Savers swag pack is... VIVIEN!!!
*winner was chosen using Random.org*

Congrats!! I have sent you an email. If I haven't heard from you by Friday I will pick a new winner
